The supply chain working group dialogue between Taiwan and the US is set early February. Details will be revealed after the inauguration of the Biden administration.
Following the US-Taiwan Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue held last November, AIT (American Institute in Taiwan) and TECRO (Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office) signed an MOU on Establishing a US-Taiwan Economic Prosperity Partnership (EPP) Dialogue.
Seven working groups were set up to focus on different aspects, including Science and Technology, 5G and Telecommunications Security, Supply Chains, Global Health Security, Women’s Economic Empowerment,. Each group are under contact with their counterparts for dialogues to continue under the new administration.
According to Wang Mei-hua, the Minister of Economic Affairs, a strong US-Taiwan relationship has been long supported by both the Democratic and the Republican parties.
Biden administration is inclined to search for more cooperation internationally and has repeatedly emphasised Taiwan’s role. It is ever increasingly important to strengthen cooperation for both sides, she said.
